Revival of Pancevo's timber industry

On July 9th, the TMB Diamond company unveiled its plans for the revival of the timber industry in Pancevo.
In the former timber company Gaj, they intend to start modern production and market such products abroad as well. At the presentation of plans in the building of the City Management, the city and the province promised help in the selection of location as well as in incentives, RTV Pancevo reported.

By taking over the Gaj company, introducing modern technology in production and opening new production facilities in some of the brownfield locations, TMB Diamond could run the entire wood processing industry in Pancevo, said TMB Diamond CEO Teso Markovic. He stressed that up to 580 workers could get a job there, RTV Pancevo announced.

- Production could commence March - said Markovic.

Primary products of TMB Diamond are wooden packaging for fruits and vegetables, prefabricated houses and log cabins, and accompanying products - wooden pallets, equipment for children's playgrounds and parks, furniture...

- Considering that my company has a years-long experience in exports and an excellent cooperation with parttners from Denmark and Scandinavia, primarily with the IKEA company, we expect no problem with the export of products from new production facilities - said Teso Markovic.

The total value of this investment is EUR 8.4 million, 6.3m of which will be subsidized by the Republic of Serbia, while 2.1 million will be invested by the company owner, it was said at the presentation of the "Revival of the Timber Industry in Pancevo" plan, it was announced on the website of the Vojvodina government.
