Donors' conference for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to be held July 16 - Government adopts Report on floods
The Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted today the Report on this year’s floods in our country which will be presented at the Donors’ conference where funds will be collected for floods consequences rehabilitation. The Government authorized the Office for the help and rehabilitation of flooded areas to deliver the report to the French Government, co-organizer of the Donors’ conference.
The donor’s conference, "Let’s rebuild together ", whose objective is to enable further support for Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina after floods, will be held in Brussels, July 16.
The objective of the conference organized by France and Slovenia is to collect funds from donors for the rehabilitation of the countries hit by floods, the European Commission announced.
The conference will also contribute to development of cooperation in the field of flood and natural disasters protection in the region as well as the operational coordination, it was stated in the announcement of the European Commissionaire for expansion, Stefan File.
As it was planned in the agenda, the conference will be opened by File, Prime Minister of Slovenia, Alenka Bratusek and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Loran Fabius, and Tomislav Nikolic and the chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegovic, will after that addresses the participants.
Three movies on catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia will be played at the conference as well as on reaction of the international community and the European Commissionaire for humanitarian aid, Kristalina Georgieva, will give the final word.
Countries-donors, international financial institutions and relevant civil society organizations were invited to the conference; it was said in the announcement.
The European Commission, France and Slovenia outlined that the priority is economical rehabilitation of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
