Pionir and Kras rank among 100 biggest world confectionaries
Two confectionaries from the region- Kras and Pionir – ranked at the list of one hundred biggest confectionaries in the world. The American company, Mars which produces snickers, mars, bounty and twix, is the biggest producer of candies in the world. Its turnover reached USD 17,64 billion, the research of the specialized Candyindustry review showed.
American Mondelez International, former Kraft Foods, which in comprises famous milka chocolate among other products follows with USD 15 billion.
Apart from milka chocolate, Mondelez International is famous for oreo, LU and toblerone. Two years ago, the company changed the name – it is a compound of two words – mode (world) and delhaize (sweet).
The third ranked is Swiss confectionary Nestle with an annual profit of USD 11,76 billion.
Among the first ten ranked are Japanese Meiji (USD 11,74 billion), Italian Ferrero (USD 10,9 billion), American Hershey's (USD 7,04 billion), Argentinean Arcor (USD 3,7 billion), Italian-Dutch Perffeti (USD 3,3 billion), German Haribo (USD 3,2 billion) and Swiss Lindt (USD 3,15 billion).
Kras also ranks among the first one hundred which has bajadera chocolates, waffles, Zivotinjsko carstvo chocolates (Animal planet chocolate), candies Bronhi and Kiki, etc. With its USD 163 sales profit, Kras ranks as 79th.
Serbian Pionir ranks as 86th. Its most famous product is honey heart (medeno srce). The company generates an annual candy sales profit of USD 140 mil.
The last ranked at the list of one hundred leading candy producers is Australian Darell Lea s with the profit higher than USD 100 mil.
