Zemun-Borca Bridge to be completed by December 27
Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the City of Belgrade will jointly make effort to meet the deadline of 27 December, to have the works completed on the construction of a bridge over the Danube between Zemun and Borca.
That was the conclusion of today's meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of construction, transportation and infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and the mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali, as it was published on the ministry's website.
As planned, Zemun-Borca bridge should be completed by 27 December this year, and all access roads by 15th of September 2015.
At the meeting of the government, it was concluded that the work flow was going in predicted dynamics, but it is necessary to eliminate the shortcomings of previous city and state governments and strengthen supervision so the bridge could be completed without unnecessary additional costs for the state and city budget.
Therefore, the ministry and the city will organize meetings with the relevant municipal and city companies to eliminate all ambiguities as soon as possible. They will also sign Annex 4 with Chinese partner, which is a condition for the completion of the bridge.
With the construction of the Zemun-Borca bridge, freight traffic that goes from Banat will be relocated from Belgrade and the bridge will link the corridors 10 and 11.
New bridge across the Danube will be 1,507 meters long, 29.1 meters wide and 22.8 meters high, with a total of six lanes and pedestrian-bicycle paths on both sides, and the access roads will be 21.6 kilometers long.
The main span of the bridge is 362 meters long.
