IKEA to open eight shops in the region, five of which in Serbia
After opening of big IKEA trade chain in Zagreb announced for Thursday, Swedish company is planning to open seven points of sale more in the ex-Yu region.
Ljubljana and Belgrade are definite locations and there is a possibility of opening shops in Rijeka, Split, Novi Sad and Nis, the IKEA representatives for Slovenia and Croatia, Igpr Stefanac, said for Finance.
Apart from the one in Slovenia and two in Croatia, five facilities in Serbia should be built, Stefanac adds.
During the next year, IKEA is also planning sto start construction of Ljubljana-based center on 84 thousand square meters which it is planning to buy from Triglav.
Stefanac confirmed that negotiations on land in Serbia as well are in progress and what the city offered did not satisfy expectation of Swedish company.
