Reconstruction of the Pirot bridge, Gazela, in late August – Lazarevac-based Bauweshen to carry out the works

Representatives of the Directorate for construction of the Pirot municipality signed the contract on the Gazela bridge reconstruction in that town with Lazarevac-based contractor, Bauweshen.

The bridge represents the artery of Pirot since it connects the industrial part of the town and the Pirot Free

Examinations which renowned domestic institutes carried out, showed it is possible to rehabilitate the bridge and that it is not necessary to demolish it at that location.

According to the head of the Directorate, Branislav Kostic, the reconstruction will cost RSD 24 mil.

- We expect the contractor starts works by the end of the month. Compared to previous projects and plans with respect to funds essential for bridge reconstruction, we received significantly more favorable offers so thus we will generate savings of some RSD 11 M. The funds will be directed in some other infrastructure investments – Kostic said for Tanjug.
