New public city transport analysis in Belgrade during the fall – Egis and city heads continue discussions on metro

Head of the City of Belgrade met on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, with representatives of the French Egis, the Embassy of France in Serbia and members of the working group for the Belgrade metro project and the topic was recent activities in construction of three lines of Belgrade’s metro.


As it was stated from the City Directorate, at the meeting held at the City Assembly, the special focus was on the construction of the first metro line and it was agreed with the heads of the city to conduct analysis of passenger and vehicle number in public city transport during October and November.


The analysis will be information base for development of the first metro line and serve as one of the basic things to decide on how metro will be built.

They agreed at the meeting on the need to set up the working group which would comprise representatives of the ministries of finance of France and Serbia as well as of the City of Belgrade so that different project funding models could be analyzed.
