First new electromotor train on Serbian rails as of December 2014
The first new electromotor passenger train could arrive to Serbia in a month so that it would be on the track in December, , Zeleznice Srbije announced.
It is the program which comprises 21 new electromotor passenger trains totaling EUR 99 m. Serbian railways bought them thanks to the EBRD loan.
Production of new electromotor passenger trains for Zeleznice Srbije in Swiss Stadler is running faster than planned and examinations of the first two railway compositions are in progress.
Swiss train producer will present new railway composition which will operate Serbian rails next year, at the biggest international transport fair - InnoTrans 2014, September 23-26 in Berlin.
New Serbian trains will replace the old ones at the electrified regional roads of Serbia. The train capacity is 465 passengers with 12 first class seats , 224 fixed and 11 auxiliary seats as well as 230 standing seats. Trains comprise four parts and develop speed of 160 km/h.
