The board members of the Town Hall of Prokuplje have accepted the initiative about construction of city heating plant powered by biological fuel, in which Slovakian company "Ekosol" intends to invest 10m EUR. The complete project for construction of two heating plants and pipeline to each institution and apartment facility in Municipality of Prokuplje will be financed by Slovakians, while the Municipality provided free building land to the investor.
Implementation of project will start at the beginning of April when the contract on construction will be officially signed by the investor and the local self-government. If everything goes as planned, the citizens of Prokuplje will have heating pipeline already next season.
The Mayor of Prokuplje, Vladimir Jovanović, says that the Municipal budget, thanks to the heating plant, will be freed of 30% of obligations, because all institutions and schools in the Municipality are now supplied with the heating fuels that are paid with the money from the Municipal budget.
Once built, it will be the first heating plant powered by biological fuel in this part of Europe. Slovakian investors, as they said, are ready to cooperation with other municipalities in Serbia as well.
