Studies just like at Oxford and Cambridge - Educons University in Sremska Kamenica builds the first international campus in Serbia

Just like famous universities,the first international private university campus is slowly emerging from the Danubepark greenery in Sremsa Kamenica. Apart from Serbia, this is the first private student complex of this kind in the entire region and it will host the first students in the next academic year, the rector Educons University Aleksandar Adrejevic confirmed for eKapija.

- The construction of dormitory started twenty days ago and we expect the works to end by mid-2015, i.e. end of July or early August because we are planning the first residents in the fall next year – Andrejevic says.

Dormitory is planned for 100 students and it will have 50 rooms.

- Since we want to improve studying conditions and the quality of students life increasing it to higher level, we are planning to have a restaurant, a café, a bank, an exchange office,a drugstore, a laundry service, a gym and a fitness center within the dormitory.We prepared cards which will provide students with discounts to theatre, movie,museums, city transport - a collocutor of eKapija says, adding that the university is planning to offer a wide range of scholarships which will comprise dormitory accommodation as well.

"Live, learnand train at one place"

The Educons University will be the first to offer students in Serbia Anglo-Saxon way of studying - "live,learn and train at one place ", and if everything runs smoothly, as our collocutor says, in mid next year, construction of sports hall within the campus will start.

- Total value of dormitory and a sports hall is EUR 1m. Multifunctional hall will have handball field, a futsal field and a smaller sports ambulance – Andrejevic outlines.

According to his words, some of Educons students are our popular sportsmen , Tatjana Jelaca, Ivana Spanovic and Mihail Dudas, so they will be able to prepare for big contests here.

Ninefaculties within university

The Educons University comprisesnine faculties: Faculty for service business-FABUS, Faculty of business economy,Faculty of Environmental Protection, Academy of Classical Painting, Faculty of environmental agriculture, Faculty for applied security, Faculty of digital production, Faculty for sports and tourism - TIMS and the Faculty for European legal and political studies - FEPPS.

Educons educates people at basic academic, master and specialized academic and vocation studies as well as PhDs. All programs of the Educons University are accredited at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia and it got the working permit in June 2008.

- The concept of our university is based on philosophy or applied science and combined learning. Our program has a modern structure which we adapt to market needs – the rector of the University which now has 1900 students says.

In Sremska Kamenica, on 10.000 square meters, there are already two main university buildings where the offices, amphitheaters,classrooms and a laboratory are and a dormitory and sports hall will make the Educons University complex become a campus just like in Hollywood movies, Aleksandar Adrejevic concludes.
