Google awards invention of a young girl from Novi Sad

Jovana Kondic, a second grade student in Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Grammer School eneterd into the Google’s innovation world competition.

Her invention she was awarded for is completely natural and efficient thermal insulation based on cement, celluloses and zeolite.

Under the name "Google science fair", this competition in the field of natural sciences every year gathers dozens thousands of young innovators age 13 to 18. When the world map comprised 30 places where the competition finalists come from, with the words “these are the people who will change the world” and when in the Balkans only Novi Sad lighted, all Jovana’s effort was worth.

- Although I did not win and traveled to California, I do not feel sorry because competition is incredible and I succeeded to enter the finals in my category. They sent me a medallion for my invention which I explained in the scientific work. After that, I saved the presentation on skype and sent so that they could show it at the award ceremony. Jovana says for "24sata".

Since research show 45% of electricity consumption in the world goes on heating of poorly insulated facilities, this school girl decided to stop it. Her thermal insulation plate is the only one completely natural, it is recycled and it is not flammable. The best thing is that it is not costly. Universal ratio for a plate is 500 g zeolite, 200 g cement and 100 g cellulose for a cubic decimeter.

Jovana attend natural and mathematics department in German language. She also studies Italina, attends drama section and trains volleyball at the Dunav Volej club. She would like to study in Italy.
