Savings up to EUR 10 m - Elixir group develops production of new animal feeding supplement

Engineers of Sabac-based Elixir group, a regional leader in production of fertilizers, developed technology of production of mono-calcium phosphate, essential animal feeding supplements where it could save EUR 10 m. Namely, Serbia is importing the product since there has not been for a single local supplier.

Through revitalizing Prahov-based section and using the existing equipment and raw materials, calcium carbonate and phosphor acid, Elixir group got very high quality product, fully competitive to the existing product which is exported.

- Next year, Elixir group will produce more than 30.000 tons of mono calcium phosphate. The quantity can completely fullfil the local market demands which could save some ten million euros which are now set aside for export - Zorica Popovic, GM at Elixir group said.

GM Popovic outlines that they are planning export of new product from Serbia because neighboring countries such as Croatia, Bosnian and Herzegovina, Hungary and Romania do not have production of calcium mono phosphate but they import it from Russia, Latvia and Tunisia, etc.

Elixir group is a regional leader in fertilizers production with constant production and export growth as well as regional leader in purchase and sale of frozen fruit.

In the plants Elixir Zorka and Elixir Prahovo for the upcoming year, they are planning start of production of some other phosphor products which are not produced in Serbia and which will be competitive compared to some other world producers.
