Serbia and Russia sign seven intergovernmental agreement and protocol - Fiat cars export underway
President of the Government, ofSerbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has announced after the meeting with the Russianpresident, Vladimir Putin, good news for Serbian economy.
- I have good news for the citizensof Serbia: we will solve all our relations in the energy field soon, in apartner-like manner. President Putin heard my, perhaps daring plead, since wewill have certain quote for export of fiat to Russia and we will have incomparablybigger option of cheese and cream export - Vucic said as Belgrade mediareported.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin,was staying October 16 in Belgrade for the visit during which he discussed withthe highest governmental officials and where he was attending 70thanniversary of the liberation of Belgrade and victory over fascism an 100 yearssince the beginning of the World War I. Big military parade was held therefore in Belgrade.
The Government of Serbia officially announced that representatives of our country and Russia signed seven intergovernmental agreements, memorandums and protocols on cooperation in a number of different fields.
The intergovernmental agreements weresigned at the Palata Srbije (the Palace of Serbia) in Belgrade, in the presence of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, president of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolica nd the Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic.
The Minister of Defense, Bratislav Gasic and the head of the Federal Department for military and technical cooperation of the Russian Federation, Alexander Vasilevich Fomin, signed the Agreement on military and technicalcooperation.
The head of the Council for nationalsecurity and confidential data protection of the Government of Serbia, GoranMatic and the head of the Security Department of Russia, Sergey Beseda, signedthe Agreement on mutual confidential data protection.
The Minister of internal affairs, NebojsaStefanovic and the head of the Federal immigration department, Konstantin Romodanovsky, signed the Agreement on readmission and Protocol on its implementation.
Customs Directorate head, MilosTomic and the head of the Federal Customs Department of Russia, Andrey Belyaninov,signed Protocol between the Customs Directorate of Serbia and the Federal Customs Department of Russia on data exchange with respect to customs valueof the goods turnover between the two countries.
(Vladimir Putin and Aleksandar Vucic)The Customs Directorate announced that signing of the Protocol on data exchange with respect to customs valueof the goods turnover between Serbia and Russia will contribute to improvementof goods customs control as well as that information exchange on customs valuewill contribute to customs procedures simplification.
- One of the basic reasons toconclude Protocol is providing favorable terms for trading between the twocountries as well as more efficient fight against customs fees and taxespayment avoidance – Customs administration say.
The Minister of Mining and Energy, AleksandarAntic and GM at the Russian energy agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Anatoly Tikhonov, signed Memorandum of understanding in energy efficiency, energysavings and renewable energy sources.
Head of the Directorate forinfrastructure at Zeleznice Srbije, Goran Maksic and GM at RZD International, Sergey Pavlov, signed the contract onreconstruction of three sections of the trans-European railway Corridor 10.
Head of the traffic organization atZeleznice Srbije (Serbian Railways), Njegosav Teofilovic, and GM at RZDInternational, Sergey Pavlov, signed the contract on delivery of 27 diesel motorvehicles for suburban traffic.
PUTIN: Big risk for gas transit thiswinter
Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has said today in Belgrade that Russia, incase Ukraine “steals” gas like it did in 2008, will be forced to decrease forthat quantity the fuel delivery, Beta reports.
- We hope there will be no energycrisis this winter. Russia has always been reliable fuel supplier- Putin saidat the press conference after the meeting with the governmental officials ofSerbia.
Putin, however, outlined there is a big risk for gas transit for the Europeanmarket through Ukraine, Tanjug reports.
New investments in Fiat automobile Srbijaessential
An economist, Mahmud Busatlija, sayscustoms-free export of Fiat cars to Russia would be useful for Serbia but thatit would require new investment in Kragujevac-based FAS capacity expansion.
Serbia cannot rely only on theexport to EU and opportunity for new markets should be used, the economistthink, adding that our country has been generating export growth only in Rusiawhile everything else has been declining.
- For the sanctions EU imposed on Russia, both parties suffer great damage andthe chance should be used until Russia and EU come to good terms which theywill since interests are huge – Busatlija said for the Beta agency.
Increase in agriculture export possible
Serbia could increase agriculturaland food products export to Russia only if it increases investments into agricultureand revitalize collectives, agro-economist and advisor of the EconomicInstitute in Belgrade, Miladin Sevarlic said for the Beta agency.
- These kind of changes in domesticproduction would in the next few years, could enable double increase of Serbianexport to the Russian market, without spoiling current trading relations withother countries – Sevarlic said for the Beta agency.
He added Serbia has not yet used theoption for the export of agricultural products which has been provided with theagreement on customs-free access to Russia and Customs Union.
