National Assembly Approves Borrowing of RSD 14.9 Billion for Ruma-Sabac-Loznica Project

The National Assembly of Serbia has confirmed the agreement on the borrowing for the purposes of financing the road project Ruma-Sabac-Loznica. This is a long-term loan in the amount of RSD 14.9 billion.

The president of the Board for Finance, Aleksandra Tomic, said during the discussion at the National Assembly of Serbia that the project was worth a total of EUR 476 million.

– The first phase is the interchange near Ruma, that is, the Ruma-Sabac section, which is supposed to be part of the E70 highway on a total length of 21.14 kilometers, where vehicle speed, on that section, will be 130 kilometers per hour – Tomic said.

According to her, the second phase will entail a section across the Sava, and the third phase pertains to the Sabac-Loznica part, which is a fast route of 54.48 kilometers, where vehicles will move at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

– The part of the loan which we are discussing today should complete all the phases which pertain to the realization of the project – Tomic said.

The plan is for the loan to be repaid over a period of 10 years, with a two-year grace period.

The loan is available until January 4, 2024, and the payment would be until August 1, 2031.
