(Bernadett Kun) Gyula spa in Hungary is a favorite bathing resort to tourists from Serbia. The center in Gyula has 20 indoor and outdoor pools with new large aqua park. In any case, it is an ideal place to relax since environment is nice and the city is full of sights. The City of Gyula is 1,5 hours by car far from Horgos border, 3,5 hours from Belgrade and is available to guests from Serbia since roads are in very good shape.

The Hunguest Hotel Erkel is found in the heart of the city in the historical area, directly next to the old brick castle. Gyula city is located 1,5 hours far from the Horgos border by car, 3,5 hours from Belgrade, so it is so available for Serbian guests, and the roads are in really good condition. The big advantages of the hotel are the direct access to the Castle Spa through the corridor, and the unique big capacity. In the heart of the city, immediately next to the spa complex Castle, there is Hunguest Hotel Erkel. It was named after Ferenc Erkel, one of the most famous composers in Hungary. The hotel is the only one in Guyla connected through direct, warm passage with Castle spa complex.

eKapija:Tell us a bit more about the Gyula Castle Spa complex.
(AquaPalota)- There are many spas in Hungary, but the Castle Spa of Gyula is one of the best. The spa is basically in a wonderful environment, because it is located in the park of Almásy Castle with 8,5 hectare, which is a nature conservation area also today. During the construction of buildings and pools the main point was the protection of trees, so a really big green area is waiting for the guests. With positive allocation of the pools they reached that the Castle Spa can be a silent resting place for 10.000 people per day. The healing waters are rich in alkali hydrogen carbonate. The water is efficient in cases of locomotor disorders, nervous complaints, rehabilitation after traumas, over acid stomach problems, and gynecologic combustion. The services of the Castle Spa: outdoor pools, swimming pools with 50 meters and 25 meters, Castello Wellness and Sauna park, outdoor and indoor thermal pools. The newest attraction of the Caste Spa is the AquaPalota, which was built in the end of 2013. This indoor spa complex offers slides, sauna park, twister, water jet, jumping pool, Jacuzzi, water bar and napping massages.
eKapija: What is wellness offer like at Hunguest Hotel Erkel?

-Our hotel has a small wellness area, where our guests can use saunas, steam cabin, salt chamber, adventure pool, and for extra fee we offer many massages. The wellness is unlimited for the guests of Dürer Building (4 star). Basically the Castle Spa gives the BIG wellness experience, but our every prices are inclusive of the unlimited tickets.

eKapija: You have special packages for your guests of different ages? What would you outline?
- Of course we have many packages according to the seasons. And we offer discounted rates for the senior guests or children. We try to satisfy every segment’s need.

eKapija:Why should companies pick up Hunguest Hotel Erkel for business meetings and team buildings?

- The hotel has a unique big capacity in the region: we can welcome 616 guests in 308 rooms at the same time in the 3 and 4 star buildings. But the city is a great place also for team buildings. The two most famous curiosity of Gyula is the palinka (rakije) and sausage. The companies who visit us, usually organize training with these, as sausage and palinka tasting, sausage making and traditional Hungarian pig slaughter. But we can organize many other programs too. We have already ensure conference place for several Serbian companies.

eKapija: What are your capacities for organization of conferences, seminars and similar like?
- Our Hunyadi Mátyás room has capacity for 300 people at the same time, and we also have some smaller meeting rooms. During the conferences we ensure full technical equipment and professional service.
eKapija: What are additional tourist facilities for guests?
- I have already talked about the palinka and sausage. Besides these, our guests like the sightseeing tour with guide, the Brick Castle Museum, the One Hundred Years Old Pastry Shop, and the shipping in the summer season. The newest attraction is the Almásy Castle Museum which is located 100 meters from the hotel, and this is a very modern and unique experience. I think the guests should not miss it.

eKapija: Can you present us an ideal long weekend at your destination?

The perfect weekend in Gyula is the following I think:

On Friday there are the check-in from 2 PM, acceptance of the room, the bathrobes and the Spa watches. After that the guests can try the Castle Spa, the AquaPalota and wellness. In the evening there is a buffet dinner with great atmosphere and live music in Orchidea Restaurant.

On Saturday, after the rich buffet breakfast, the guests drink a tasty coffee in Violin Drinkbar. It is an ideal time for a big walking in the city, the guests worth to see the famous pasty shop, the world clock and the brick castle. After a light lunch swimming and relaxing in Castle Spa, and a tasty buffet dinner at the evening in the hotel. If the guests walk to the city centre, they can admire the beautiful lighted up fountains and bars.

On Sunday there is a buffet breakfast again, but don’t leave the hotel so early. The rooms are available until 10 AM, but after that we can ensure free luggage room. The Sunday is perfect for visiting Almásy Castle Museum, which is a 2-hours interactive program, and is located 3 minutes far from the hotel on foot.
