Kjell Morten Johnsen – new CEO of "Telenor" in Serbia
Kjell Morten Johnsen is the new Executive Director of "Telenor" in Serbia. Johnsen is going to take up the post from Stein Erik Velan, who is now the candidate for the Executive Director of new "Telenor’s" company in India, March 16th.
Kjell Morten Johnsen (41) was the CEO of "Telenor" in Russia since year 2006. During more than 15 years of work in various industrial branches, he gained rich international experience. He has several high managerial functions, including membership in the Council of Directors of company "VimpelCom" and the Executive Council of Managers of the Association of European Companies in Russia.
- I am flattered and happy for the fact that I am given the opportunity to improve the results of this excellent company, and I am fully aware of the huge success that my predecessor Stein Erik has already achieved. I know that Telenor’s subscribers in Serbia got used to the best quality of network and constant innovations. My priority will be to meet even greater expectations. I will do my best that the management and staff in "Telenor" keep strong position that our company has in the market of Serbia – said Johnsen.
The new Director came to work for "Telenor" in 2000 as the Manager of Projects of "Telenor’s" international center. He became a member of the Council of Directors of company "Golden telecom" in December 2003, and he was the President of the company’s executive body between February 2004 and February 2008 when that company was sold to "VimpelCom".
He was appointed as the Vice President of "Telenor" for Central and East Europe as soon as that unit was founded, at the beginning of year 2006. He is a member of the Council of Directors of "VimpelCom" since June 2007. He speaks English, Russian and German language.
