Ove Fredheim named Telenor Serbia CEO

Ove Fredheim was yesterday appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor in Serbia. Fredheim will take up the new position on September 1st, succeeding Kjell-Morten Johnsen, who became Head of Telenor's European operations and member of the Group Executive Management earlier this year, Reuters reported.
- It is my great pleasure to announce that Ove Fredheim will assume the position of Telenor Serbia CEO. Ove has long experience from the CEE region, including Hungary, Ukraine and Montenegro. I am confident that with his knowledge about the region and the extensive experience from the telecom industry, Ove can strengthen and further develop Telenor's position in Serbia - said Kjell-Morten Johnsen, Executive Vice-President, Head of European operations.
Ove Fredheim comes from Telenor Group Headquarters, where he was heading the Markets unit within the Group Industrial Development for the past three years. Prior to that, Fredheim served as CEO, Telenor Hungary, from 2003 to 2009. He has been with Telenor for 20 years.

Ove Fredheim has been in diverse management positions in Telenor Group, including Telenor Mobile, Norway (Senior Vice President Products and Markets, 2001-2002) and Kyivstar, Ukraine (Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Marketing Officer 1999-2001).
He was member of the Board of Directors in Telenor Montenegro (2005-2008), Member of Operating Committee in DiGi, Malaysia (2001-2002) and currently participates in the Board of Directors in Telenor Norway. He holds a Master Degree from Norwegian School of Management.
