InterContinental Hotel to be built in Ljubljana by May 2017
(Future look of the InterContinental Hotel) The Ljubljana InterContinental Hotel has risen above the foundations. Even though the construction began on December 24, only four underground floors and one above-ground floor have been completed so far. The company Delta Holding has invested over EUR 45 million in this structure and the hotel will be run by the management of the InterContinental Group.
- We have built four underground floors for the garages and the meeting hall. From now on, we will be building a floor a week. The plan is for all the works to be completed by May 2017, after which around two months will be needed for the hotel to become operational and to open – says Zivorad Vasic, the general manager at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Belgrade and the project manager at the company Delta Real Estate.
Once finished, the InterContinental Hotel will be Ljubljana's tallest building and will have 24 floors. The ultimate floor will contain an Italian restaurant with a panoramic view of the entire city and Mount Triglav.
- The restaurant has hired the famous Italian chef Alfredo Russo, who is supposed to turn it into the first Michelin-starred restaurant in Ljubljana – points out Vasic. - The hotel will have over 35 m2 of surface across 165 rooms. It will also contain a 400-capacity grand hall. In September, 200 jobs at the hotel will be advertised.
