Owner of Delta expanding hotel business to countries of the region – Miskovic eyeing hotels in Albania and Croatia

Miroslav Miskovic is planning to buy hotels in Croatia and Slovenia, Blic learns.

Miskovic's Delta is aiming to become the regional leader in the hotel business and they are negotiating about investing in the area in these two countries.

Provided the negotiations are successful, Miskovic might acquire at least two top category hotels in Albania and Croatia next year. The locations have not been revealed, as the negotiations are in progress. If they are successful, Delta might end up owning six hotels in four states of the region. As already known, the company is building the Intercontinental hotel in Ljubljana and owns Crowne Plaza and the recently acquired Holiday Inn in Belgrade. The construction of the Intercontinental hotel should begin soon as well.

A Blic source from Delta says that expanding to the countries of the region is one of the priorities.

– This is above all an investment in tourism, that is, in the hotel business. Along with the Ljubljana hotel, which should be completed in spring 2017, the priorities include the construction of the Intercontinental hotel in Belgrade and investing in the hotel business in Croatia and Albania. Several locations in Croatia are being considered and negotiations with local authorities are in progress. As for Albania, we are considering the possibility of a partnership investment with a prominent local company – says the Blic source from Delta.

The company refused to officially comment on Blic findings. They only said that their strategic goals related to investments in agriculture, real estate and the hotel business.
