Another plant for rolling pins production for IKEA - Daccoment AG is planning to open another production facility in Serbia
We are planning to build another factory in Serbia. We are considering locations in many cities and will soon finish a feasibility study. It is a public-private partnership, and details will be known when we finish negotiations with the state and IKEA, Edin Dacic, the owner of the Swiss Daccoment AG, within which Standard furniture in Cuprija operates as well, said for Novosti.
Dacic became known to the public after signing the contract with Swedish IKEA for which he produces rolling pins for the whole world .
- Rolling pins are just a minor part of product ranfe. For IKEA, we produce products from beech, including elements for beds, cupboards, as well as massive furniture. For some products, we are the only supplier of the company for their 400 stores in the world. It is a 100% domestic product- Dacic explains.
With the announcement of the opening a new plant in our country, Dacic reminded that last year production in the factory in Serbia increased by 16% and that the plan for this year is to boost sales by another 20%.
Dacic has a factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina which produces furniture also for the Swedish chain store.
When asked what is the largest customer demand, he points out that in Bosnia and Herzegovina they produce more than one million pieces of furniture per year, while in Serbia "in the peak season" they produce even half a million pieces of furniture and some 300,000 rolling pins.
