"Vizium Air" to manufacture airplanes and to open service center and flying school in Zrenjanin…

Austrian company "Vizium Air", general agent of "Diamond Aircraft", the largest manufacturer of sports aircrafts in Europe, has recently signed the contract with the representatives of city of Zrenjanin on construction of the unit for production and servicing of sports aircrafts, in which 30m EUR will be invested.

- Only fuselages and wings will be produced in the first phase in the units of the new factory, which should be completed in mid-2009. “Diamond Aircraft” will later start to receive complete airplanes from Zrenjanin – said Steva Popov, the CEO of factory "Vizium Air" in Zrenjanin, and added that "Vizium Air" would open service center and flying school in the following period, while forming of the taxi aviation was in the pipeline.

- Two airplanes – “Gulfstream” and “Cesna” – are supposed to arrive in Zrenjanin by the New Year and, once the necessary permits are issued, they will have commercial flights starting February 2009. These two are the jet planes and they would serve as the air cabs. City of Zrenjanin, that is, airport Ečka, would provide garage space for them – says the collocutor of eKapija.

Popov points out that the basic training for physical persons in “Vizium Air” flying school should start at the beginning of November, while the pilot academy will start to receive new students at the beginning of year 2009.

- We are currently negotiating with two faculties, one from Novi Sad and one from Belgrade, because we have an idea to offer educational profile “aviation manager” to the future students. We expect that "Diamond Aircraft" will soon send four airplanes and, after they are reregistered and AOC certificate is issued, they will be used by the pilot academy – Popov points out.

The production units of "Vizium Air" will be built at 5 ha of rented land, in the vicinity of Airport Ečka, that is, about 6 km away from the center of Zrenjanin. According to Popov, the area occupied by the production units could be expanded to 15 ha.

- About 9,000 square meters of production space will be built in the first phase and it will include construction of service center that will have about 300 workers. That number will be increased in time to satisfy the needs of the factory– said Popov.
