Matijevic to start raising hotel in Kolarceva Street – Permits issued, opening in summer of 2018
Serbian businessman Petar Matijevic acquired the building permit for the beginning of the construction of a luxury hotel in the location of the Jugoexport building in the Kolarceva Street, in the center of Belgrade, Blic reports.
The new hotel will be named Beograd Centar and will welcome its first guests in July or August of 2018. The news was confirmed for Blic by Matijevic.
– We have finally acquired all the necessary permits. The scaffolding has been erected and the works are to start immediately – Matijevic says.
The Serbian meat king, as he is known, bought the Jugoexport building in 2016 for EUR 7.3 million.
The hotel will have 4+ stars, 68 rooms and a 3,000-m2 restaurant. A 5-star rating would require a pool, for which there are no conditions. The entire building will remain authentic, including the staircase from 1923.
