After a break of over a year, Germany’s Lidl has continued the construction of the supermarket in Jagodina.

The works are being carried out by Tehnogradnja Krusevac.

The City of Jagodina has provided full infrastructure in the location on an area of 0.4 hectares, near Stari Juhor, along the international Belgrade-Nis railway on Corridor 10, the City Administration told Tanjug.

The supermarket will have a large parking lot with an entrance in the Kneza Milete Street and is expected to open in 2018, the City Administration points out.

Lidl recently opened a job contest for over 1,000 workers in around 20 supermarkets in Serbia.

The plan is to employ more than 40 workers in Jagodina.
