Oblačinsko lake is becoming more and more attractive tourist destination – sports fields in March

Construction of outdoor facilities for sports recreation at Oblačinsko lake near Merošina is underway and, according to the words of the Director of the Directorate for Sport, Tourism and Recreation "Oblačinsko lake", Hranislav Perić, the works worth 10m RSD should be completed in about one month. In addition to reconstruction of 2 existing sports courts, which are used for mini football, handball and volleyball, 4 tennis courts and large football field will be built at about 4 ha in the vicinity of Oblačinsko lake.

- We have, so far, managed to finish about 60% of works. The playgrounds are paved, while smaller court, which has been reconstructed because it was old, got stands with 500 seats. Tennis courts, which are under construction, will be built according to world standards, in spite of the fact that they are only intended for recreation. The contractor is company "Telekomunikacije" from Brus –Perić explains and says that the funds for the project, which has been waiting for a good opportunity for a long time, have been provided by the Ministry of Economy, that is, the Secretariat for Tourism within this ministry.

According to Perić, the Regulation plan for Oblačinsko lake anticipates construction of sports centre, restaurant and hotel, and reconstruction of existing swimming pool on that location.

- We are taking one step at the time. We are unable to finance projects from our own sources, so that we usually apply for the state’s funds. There is a motel with restaurant and rooms with total of 30 beds at Oblačinsko lake, as well as 3 bungalows with 5 rooms each. However, we also plan to build a three-star hotel with about 100 beds in this place. The project has not been elaborated yet, but the investors have already expressed great interest in it. We had a visit from Russian investors, and many local companies are interested too. Also, it is necessary that the swimming pool be reconstructed. That is the investment worth 50m RSD and we sincerely hope that the state is going to help us with 30 or 40m ... Construction of sports centre at Oblačinsko lake is also in the pipeline, and we already have the project for that centre – says Perić.
