Tax on apartments at market price – new tax base starting May

- The valid tax rates for tax on property will not be increased, but the tax base will be brought in accord with the market value of the property – the source close to the Government of Serbia told "Blic".

The new method of calculation of tax base will be introduced in May. Experts estimate that it will be much fairer than the one that is currently in use because the bases for property tax are not even close to their real value at the moment.

The question is who will calculate the market value and in which way, and one of the possibilities is the model of calculation that is used when the taxes on transfer of absolute rights are collected.
