Business incubator in Rakovica soon - construction of commercial-residential complex "City R" at about 200,000 square meters in the pipeline
- Development Center "Korak", the business center situated in the building of former Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) in Rakovica and conceived as an aid institution for small and mid-sized enterprises whose primary business is information technology, was visited yesterday (October 26, 2009) by Miroslav Čučković, a member of the City Council, and Bojan Milić, the Mayor of Rakovica - "Beoinfo" announced.
The building at 4,200 square meters, which is situated within the complex of factory "DMB", has been provided by Republic of Serbia, and 5m RSD have been set aside from the National Investment Plan (NIP) for its reconstruction.
So far, one third of the facility has been refurbished. The building will be equipped with the means provided by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development. In addition to taking part in the creation of the incubator, the municipality of Rakovica has also prepared the preliminary project for transformation of factory "DMB" into commercial-residential complex "City R".
- Over the last few years, NIP has been focused on construction of infrastructure, schools and hospitals in Belgrade. We are now taking a significant step towards helping the economy, that is, small and mid-sized enterprises. Refurbishment of the old building of FON will give us the business incubator that will provide free legal and accounting services to the recently founded companies, as well as the space where they can stay for up to three years, until they stand on their feet and learn how to write tenders and keep accounts. In the initial phase, this incubator will be big enough for ten companies, which should employ up to 100 citizens of Rakovica - said Čučković.
- With this project and the plans for "brownfield" investment "City R" within the complex of factory "DMB", the municipality of Rakovica has set a good example for all other municipal administrations in Belgrade. In that way, old hall at 65,000 square meters and the factory yard will be transformed into a modern commercial-residential complex at about 200,000 square meters, one of the most beautiful of the kind in western part of Belgrade. The city's idea is to prepare projects in the year of the crisis for the time when the inflow of funds starts again and the investors return to Belgrade - Miroslav Čučković pointed out.
