Shopping mall at 71,000 square meters - construction of SC Trošarina starts in July 2010

On a building lot of five hectares, between Vojvode Stepe Street and Baranjska Street, Trošarina shopping center, the fourth shopping mall in the capital city, will be built. The first phase of construction will commence in July. Investor Verano Group has recently obtained the permit and, thus, the last obstacle to the delivery of about EUR 100m worth of trade-business center at 71,000 square meters to the citizens in this part of the city has been removed.

The future shopping mall will have three underground levels, about 38,000 square meters for garages, while the ground floor and two above-ground floors with spacious pedestrian corridors will occupy the space of about 33,000 square meters. The above-ground part of the mall will be occupied by outlets, offices, exclusive stores and a supermarket, green market, restaurants and coffee shops. Since shopping malls are not only the places for shopping, but also for a whole-day socializing, the second floor is designed for fun.

– The visitors will have various contents at their disposal, including a bawling room, multiplex cinema with six halls, billiards, computer games, Internet cafe, etc. Fitness and wellness centers, catering section and open bars will make the stay in that space complete – says Vesna Krizmanić, the Executive Director of building company Projmetal whose experts are the authors of the project and will be hired as contractors as well.

In two years, once it is completed, the shopping center will be recognizable for its panoramic elevators and slanting "drunk" steel pillars, which will stretch through all floors and be an integral part of the entrance atrium rotunda. According to Ms. Krizmanić, the building will be using renewable energy sources and it will not pollute the environment.

–The facility has no boiler room and, thanks to the materials such as low-emission glasses with small coefficient of heat permeability and other various equipment, energy will not be wasted. The heat will be circling inside the building and heat certain parts of the space and sanitarian water – Ms. Krizmanić explains.

Verano Group has announced the construction of shopping city Brdo next to the Ibarska main route. According to the preliminary project, the future complex will occupy about 100 ha. The plan of detailed regulation for that area has been adopted recently and, once the market recovers and banks start to financially back the projects whose value exceeds EUR 10m, we can expect the realization of that construction project to start.
