Royal vacation in Banja Koviljača - Royal Spa hotel opens its doors in early 2011
Banja Koviljača, the oldest spa resort in Serbia, will get a four-star hotel in 2011, of which two-phase construction will cost about EUR 4m.
Reconstruction and adaptation of Jadar's department store into a representative hotel with 240 beds started in 2009. According to Dragoslav Nikolić, the Chairman of the Administrative Board of Loznica-based company Jadar, part of the money has been provided from the credit line of the Serbian Development Fund.

The project has been done by architectural, building and supervisory company PIN Loznica.
The suite section of the hotel was opened in April. About half of the projected funds was invested in 28 suites, 9 studios and 6 rooms. Luxury Royal Spa suites and rooms are equipped with telephone, Internet connection, cable and SAT TV, bathroom alarm, electronic lock, safe deposit box, air conditioning and fire protection system.
The first guests arrived only few days upon the opening. They came from neighboring countries - Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as from Serbia, "which is a more than clear indication that the natural beauties of western Serbia are attractive to domestic tourists as well", say the people in Jadar.
The second phase of works, which includes construction of 38 hotel rooms with a reception desk, restaurant, wellness center, two congress rooms and other accompanying contents, is expected to be finished in early 2011 when modern Royal Spa hotel will become fully functional.
According to the project, the hotel will occupy the space of 6,000 square meters and comprise 82 accommodation units (suites, studios and rooms) with 240 beds, queen's suite with spa center (jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, steam sauna...), reception desk with a reception hall, restaurant, cafe and pizza shop, wellness&spa, two congress rooms (one with 150 and the other with 50 seats), casino, shopping zone, video surveillance system, parking lot,...
"Concerning the fact that only the suite section is active, we are currently focused on individual and, occasionally, student tourism, but we also plan to put an accent on business and sport tourism as well", people from Jadar told eKapija.
So far, 7 workers have got jobs, and the plan is that about 60 more people be employed in early 2011.
In addition to the Special Rehabilitation Hospital with 416 beds, Banja Koviljača also has Podrinje hotel with 240 beds and holiday hostel Gučevo with 216 beds, both of which operate within hotel-tourism company Banja Koviljača.
