METRO Cash&Carry opened first Custom Made Metro distribution center in Serbia

METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, the biggest wholesale company in the country, opened today in Sabac its first Custom Made Metro distribution center in Serbia. It is a new retail format that is "custom made" for the professional buyers from the sectors of trade and catering in the cities with smaller number of inhabitants. The Custom Made Metro wholesale facility in Sabac offers an assortment of 2,500 articles, primarily food products, on the surface area of 1,500 square meters.

Veronika Puncheva, the Chairman of the Managing Board of METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, and Milos Milosevic, the Mayor of Sabac, ceremoniously opened the new wholesale facility in the presence the representatives of the company, local authorities, business partners and the media.

- Custom Made Metro is a new format of METRO Cash & Carry, it is focused on the customers from the trade and HoReCa sectors. We are happy to launch this new format in Sabac since we find it a very important step in the further development of the company in Serbia - Veronika Puncheva said at the opening ceremony.

- This is a great acknowledgment for our city and its economy. We are glad that METRO Cash & Carry decided to come to Sabac, after Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad and Kragujevac - Sabac Mayor Milos Milosevic said at the opening ceremony.

With its size and assortment, the new format of Metro distribution centers is created to satisfy the everyday needs of the professional buyers from the trade sector (newsstands, stores, gas stations, bookstores) and the catering sector (restaurants, hotels, catering companies, bars) in the cities with smaller population. Custom Made Metro will make it possible for buyers to save both time and money by enabling them to find everything they need for day-to-day business under one roof and get the products of the highest quality at competitive prices.

Custom Made Metro distribution center in Sabac is open Monday to Friday from 6.30 AM to 9 PM, from 6.30 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, and is closed on Sunday.

METRO Cash & Carry has so far invested over 100 million euros in Serbia where it has opened five wholesale facilities and created 1,200 jobs. Construction of the sixth Metro distribution center, in which 15 million euros have been invested and 180 people will be employed, is close to end.
