Megalit Banja builds hotel and spa resort and lakes with thermal mineral water in Josanicka spa

The look of the "gate of Kopaonik", which is the other name for Josanicka spa, has been significantly changed recently because, instead of weed, a hotel complex and lakes with thermal mineral water are growing in the center of the spa.

Namely, thermal mineral water in Josanicka spa will no longer flow unused to the river Josanica. Instead, it will serve a medical purpose.

These changes, long expected by inhabitants, are taking place thanks to the construction company Megalit Sumnik and its daughter company Megalit Banja, which is building two lakes - one for adults and the other one for children. There will also be hot tubs next to the lakes.

As it was announced earlier by TO Raska Secretary Sinisa Trifunovic, construction of ten ethno-style bungalows is in the pipeline.

The hotel complex Draguljica will have about 100 beds in the first phase, but Raska-based Megalit has also started implementation of other projects, which is why construction and adaptation works are underway in almost every yard in that spa resort.

Reorganization of the park

There is a 1.1 ha park in the very center of the spa. As Raska Tourist and Sports Organization President Dejan Koturanovic told eKapija, the municipality has applied for a grant from the Ministry of Environment Protection for the complete reorganization of that park.

- The project design alone requires an investment of 4 million dinars - says Koturanovic.

The idea of Mr. Koturanovic is that certain part of the park be turned into a playground for children.

Water worth gold

Water in Josanicka spa is a real balm for rheumatism and psoriasis, while tourists claim that the old Turkish bath is better than the most modern jacuzzi.

This mineral water has been flowing unused to the river for decades. In terms of the coal energy value, 100 tonnes are wasted every minute. Now, when people start using this thermal water for medical and hotel contents, every drop will be measured in firm currency, while Josanicka spa should no longer be wealthy but yet poor.
