Construction of Luxury Hotel Started in Tivat
On Friday, January, 20, 2012, Montenegro Prime Minister, Igor Luksic and Canadian businessman, Peter Munk placed the cornerstone for building a luxury hotel in the marina "Porto Montenegro" in Tivat.
There will be built five-star hotel, including a yacht club and a spa center. It is planned to increase the current capacity of the marina from 185 places to 370. The value of announced works is about 100 million euros.
Luksic said that the construction of hotel will provide new jobs in Tivat, and contribute to a better tourist offer of the town.
He stated that it is important that "Porto Montenegro" marinna is going to double the number of berths, and that together with Bijela based shipyard it will make an overhaul of the yachts.
Munk said he would continue to invest in the marina in Tivat, so it would become a prestigious center of nautical tourism, as the one in Monaco.
Tivat marina "Porto Montenegro" was built within a former Tivat based shipyard, "Arsenal".
