Sombor's only hotel Internacion closed
The process of liquidation of Sombor-based Internacion Hotel is terminated after going on for three years, remaining employees are fired, and the only hotel in that town is not open to guests any more.
The three-year search for a domestic or foreign buyer willing to buy the hotel as a whole has given no results.
This facility, once known as Sloboda Hotel, was bought in late 2004 by Bogdan Maglic, an atomic physicist from Sombor who lives in the USA, who also invested substantial funds in hotel renovation.
However, there have been fewer and fewer tourists lately, and the hotel management has recently tried to rent out parts of the hotel, but without success.
The hotel owner has finally decided to divide this 5,000 sqm building into smaller units and sell them separately to use the proceeds to pay creditors and hotel stakeholders.
