Nis terminates Lozni Kalem sales agreement with ItalNis

Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic announced that the sales agreement with the ItalNis company for the Lozni Kalem site had been terminated. About RSD 105 million, which is approximately 90 percent of the total amount paid by this company to the City of Nis for aforementioned land, will be paid to the account of ItalNis during the day, the City said in an official release.

As Mayor Perisic explained, the plan is to divide the Lozni Kalem site into three parts, which will make it easier to attract investors. One part of the land, spanning about five hectares, will be offered as suitable for the construction of aqua park, which has already drawn the interest of one domestic and one foreign company. The second part of the land, spanning about three hectares, is planned to be used as the construction site for a hotel, spa and congress center, whereas the plan for the third land lot spanning seven hectares is to build a shopping center on it, which sounds interesting to several large companies.

Tax Administration will estimate the value of this land, and the final price at the auction is expected to be three or four times higher than the one initially paid to the City of Nis by ItalNis. According to the experience of other cities and municipalities in our country, this land could be sold at between 25 and 34 euros per square meter.

Perisic voiced his expectation that the auction for the sale of the Lozni Kalem site would be scheduled soon, adding that the City of Nis had terminated the sales agreement pursuant to law and, thus, protected its property.
