Lidl buys land for supermarket in Smederevo

Smederevo Mayor Brance Stojanovic has confirmed to Politika that German market chain Lidl is going to open a hypermarket in Smederevo by the year's end.

This company has bought a land in the city industrial zone, right next to an Idea hypermarket, which will thus have a serious competitor.

Lidl has acquired the land lot from Smederevo-based private trade company Coka. The City has already issued a location permit and should soon grant a building permit as well. Lidl is expected to hire about 30 citizens of Smderevo.
