Sheikh buys Jugobanka Hotel at Mount Kopaonik - Mohammed bin Zayed eyes investment in Mount Stara Planina
(Jugobanka Hotel)
The Serbian government will sign three new contracts with Abu Dhabi-based companies in Belgrade in mid-September. It is expected that Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will come to Serbia on that occasion. According to the daily newspaper Blic, he bought Jugobanka Hotel at Mount Kopaonik in early July.
The crown prince of Abu Dhabi saw this facility in the vicinity of ski lifts few months ago, during his visit to Kopaonik. Unofficially, he bought the hotel for himself, but he has no intention to turn it into a residence. The hotel will be open to guests all the time, except on rare occasions when he is coming to Kopaonik. Blic has failed to find out the selling price of this hotel.
As Blic reports, the High Technology Research Center of the Mubadala Development company should be commissioned in September. The second contract to be signed in one month is the one relating to the construction of a new factory for producing parts for Airbus and Boeing.
The third contract, as Blic writes, relates to the construction of tourist facilities in Serbia. For a start, cooperation should focus on the refurbishment of tourist infrastructure in Serbia, primarily in mountain resorts such as Kopaonik and Stara Planina. UAE companies are also interested in building a hotel on the site of the former Generalstaff and in the Belgrade on Water project.
