- We have the location permit which confirms the project, architecture, heights, weights, boundaries of construction lots, construction level and occupancy level. The next step is registration of works. We are now finishing the main design based on the location permit while the we presented the preliminary project made by famous London-based company, Zaha Hadid Architects, last year at the Belgrade Design Week and won numerous compliments of the world expert public. Thanks to the Beko project, for the first time in its history, Belgrade got a true icon of modern world architecture – the company says.
Lambda Development states that the only thing which stops them form starting the construction was the court dispute.
The complex will occupy a total of 140.000 m2, 94.000 m2 ground areas and 46.000 m2 underground area. It will comprise modern, residential facilities, galleries, business area, a five-star hotel, a congress hall, shops and a department store.
- Residential part will be featured with top final materials and construction systems and there will be a huge underground parking within the complex as well as the maintenance and security service. The project was designed in a way that the complex will offer the widest range of services for those who live or work there, to guests or visitors. We took care about the view over the fortress towards the Sports Center 25.maj so that it would remain free and open while in the ground floor, a public passage for pedestrians will be opened and the authentic look of the old Beko plant will remain as it was clearly defined in the planning process. Thus, the city will get an exit to the coast of the Danube.
