By 2020 Serbia to get a billion euros from IT export - December 1 ICT Hub to start the first Serbian investment fund for startups

(Conference) Advisor for investment and economy at the cabinet of the Prime Minister of Serbia Nemanja Stevanovic, has outlined today at the press conference on digital economy that by 2020 from exports of information technology could generate one billion euros. He also announced that investment of about EUR 25 m are expected in IT park in Indjija, which, according to him, has grown into a true "cyber city".The first conference on digital economy in the region was organized by the Center for Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation ICT Hub and the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Serbia Confindustria Serbia. It gathered more than 100 Italian and Serbian companies, as well as numerous experts in the field of IT business, and was attended by representatives of the Government of Serbia, who spoke on activities of the State in order to develop a digital society.Dejan Randjic, General Manager ICT Hub, said in the introductory part of the conference the importance of innovation in business and announced that ICT Hub December 1 is launching the first Serbian investment fund that will invest in start-ups in the early stage of development.
