Vienna seeking startups for new energy solutions
In the past years, the electric energy market has been constantly on the move. Different client behavior, the competition and the digitalization have brought a new dynamics within the field, leading Wien Energie to look for startups in the field of development of new business models and organize the Innovation Challenge 2018.
The plan, as reported by Eurocomm-PR Belgrade, a representation of the City of Vienna, is for young companies worldwide to test new energy solutions with experts from Wien Energie. The contests emphasizes the fields of smart infrastructure, e-mobility, labor 4.0, photovoltaic panels and intelligent consumer solutions.
– We are seeking startups with “energy” and we want to develop smart energy solutions for our clients together – says Michael Strebl, representative of Wien Energie.
The aim of the contest is the preparation of concrete business models and services in the field of energy, which will be carried out by experts and startups. Startups may apply until July 15, 2018 at https://innovation-challenge.wienenergie.at/
The ten best startups will be invited to an innovation camp this September, where they will be able to work for three days on developing their ideas together with energy experts. The commission will then pick the five most promising projects, and, by the end of the year, the startups will be able to develop a prototype to be presented at the contest final, it is added.
