German Finleap acquires Berlin-Belgrade digital bank Penta
German fintech company builder Finleap has acquired German SME digital banking provider Penta . Terms of the deal remain undisclosed, writes Netokracija portal.
Penta was created in May 2016 by two Belgraders, Lav Odorovic and Luka Ivicevic. The founders told TechCrunch that the acquisition would enable the startup to become a part of the Finleap ecosystem and to speed up its expansion on international SME market. The deal includes launching the bank in Italy in partnership with Beesy, a Finleap portfolio company focusing on digital business banking for freelancers.
To date, Penta counts over 5,500 digital businesses as customers, such as AirHelp, bepro11 and Global Digital Women .
Over the next year, Penta plans to add direct debits, SME loans, international transfers and more in its portfolio.
