Insurance Companies to be Able to Monitor Car Driving in the Future – Local Company CarSync Wants to be Part of Mobility Revolution
CarSync is an innovative software platform based on cloud technologies for connecting, sharing and improving the use of cars. It is essentially meant for car sharing, a business which doesn't yet exist in Serbia. The aim of the Nis-based company CarSync, whose market for this part of the project is America, is to be part of the current mobility revolution.
Parallel with this, CarSync is also developing an additional service, which is part of its main service. It is a platform for connecting with “smart” cars, whose principle is such that it provides relevant information about cars connected to the network. This sort of a cloud platform is essentially meant for the monitoring of various vehicle parameters. Any individual or company that owns a modern vehicle will be able to get precise information about the condition of that vehicle. The information can pertain to the exact VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), the usage rate of the vehicle and even driver behavior, that is, the manner in which the vehicle is used.
– This sort of technology is in great demand in America. In the past years, we've been noticing new insurance companies, which charge for their services per mile, using the so-called “pay per mile” system. We believe that this kind of technology is applicable anywhere in the world and we expect the Serbian and the Eastern European market of car insurance to begin following such trends – says Nenad Mihajlovic, the CEO of CarSync.
In addition to insurance houses, in the future, the platform might become interesting to any other company which has its own “smart” rolling stock and which needs exact and standardized information about the condition of a car.
CarSync is a tenant of the Science-Technology Park in Nis and a winner of a mini-grant of the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia. It is currently negotiating with several American companies about potential tech-partnership.
