The Innovation Startup Center – Smart City Center was officially opened in Loznica, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovations, led by minister Jelena Begovic.
– It is my great pleasure that we are in Loznica today and that the number of innovation centers is growing, and we have reached a number of 24. Each of them is special in its own way. As for this particular center, within its space, on an area of 800 square meters, it already has an operating center, which is the basis for smart cities and does the supervision, that is, the monitoring of various activities in the city, from traffic to the consumption of electrical energy in the streets – pointed out Begovic, as reported on the website of the ministry.
She added that a team of people who had developed that system, both software and hardware, including various sensors, worked in the operating center.
This innovation startup center should provide, to the citizens of Loznica, primarily the young, support for starting their own business and acquire knowledge and experience in their own city, pointed out the mayor of Loznica, Vidoje Petrovic.
The Innovation Startup Center in Loznica was formed as part of a wider national program of support to raising the innovation capacities of the local self-government units in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. This center will be the seat for the monitoring of the city center, the most modern of its kind in Serbia.
