“Tiny homes” concept changing the way many people live, work and travel – What is emerging on Fruska Gora? (PHOTO)
In the world of architecture, housing and tourism, changes are happening which are small in size, but large in influence, Ljubica Radovanovic, the founder of the company Logera, says for eKapija. This pertains to the concept of “tiny homes”, that is, micro houses – sustainable modular houses, which entails small spaces for living and relaxation, with floor areas ranging from 10 to several dozen square meters. They are becoming increasingly popular, bringing numerous advantages and changing the way many people live, work and travel.
– “Tiny homes” are compact housing units which integrate simplicity, functionality, sustainability and efficiency. These principles initiate the transformation of traditional housing norms and inspire the design of sophisticated living spaces, giving advantage to experiences, traveling, personal development and ecological sustainability – says Radovanovic.
She adds that they are designed so as to use each centimeter of space to the maximum, implementing smart solutions for storing items, multifunctional furniture and other architectural innovations.
What’s especially interesting is that they can be on wheels too! However, even without them, they are easily portable, providing flexibility when it comes to the change of location if needed.
– By using recyclable materials in construction, installing solar panels, integrating the IoT and building on ecological foundations which don’t devastate the land, we fulfill the principles of ecological sustainability. Such facilities are most often much more favorable for construction and maintenance compared to traditional solutions, which makes them a more economic option – adds our interviewee.
Logera offers three model series at the moment – Terra, Silva and Air, and Angolo and Nido are being prepared.
– When it comes to the first three models, they differ in dimensions, capacity, architecture and design. The Terra series are fully functional solo modules whose dimensions are adapted to transportation limitations regarding the width, length and height. The Silva series offers a systemic solution which simply connects several modules, which is ideal for clients who want bigger floor areas. The latest series, Air, is characterized by a unique design in the global market, specific in its appearance and the volume of the gallery which gives the users a sense of spaciousness and comfort – clarifies Ljubica Radovanovic.
Who are micro houses meant for?
Deep ecology as a mission – live smart simply, simply live smart
The mission of Logera is to promote the concept of “deep” ecology and secure innovative, ecologically acceptable solutions for those who want to live in harmony with the nature, without giving up on the modern way of life.
– “Deep ecology” is not just an ecological approach, but also a philosophy which takes into consideration the physical, social, biological, spiritual, moral and ethical aspects of our relation to nature, including the awareness of a deeper connection with nature, respect for all living beings and support to sustainable practices which support the entire ecosystem, with an emphasis on the development of individuals and the community in line with these values. In the context of “tiny homes”, this means that said principles are implemented, which entails sustainability, ecological awareness and support to values which exceed traditional standards and ways of construction – our interviewee points out.

The slogan of Logera is “simply smart,” that is, “live smart simply, simply live smart.”
– It emphasizes our dedication to promoting an intelligent and efficient way of life through the concept of “tiny homes”. We focus on a minimal use of the resources and on supporting a harmonic unity with nature. This approach is not just ecologically responsible, but also contributes to a long-term sustainability, while at the same time providing an enriched experience of a living space which integrates functionality, comfort and environmental awareness – she adds.
In the coming period, the plan is to intensify the activities in promotion and placement, so that Logera would attract the necessary investments for the expansion of its business.
– The focus will be directed at the building of partner relations with investors and the development of strategies which support a sustainable growth of our “tiny homes” portfolio. Our aim is to achieve a bigger influence and to position ourselves as leaders in the segment of sustainable modular houses, setting new standards in the industry and providing innovative solutions which efficiently respond to the demands of the modern market – says eKapija’s interviewee.
Cootak on Fruska Gora – a sustainable tourism destination
The phase of researching and planning a sustainable tourism destination called Cootak is currently in progress on Fruska Gora. It is an integral part of the scientific research of our interviewee for her PhD.
The research integrates technological innovations with principles of sustainable development, providing practical guidelines for achieving the sustainable development goals (SDG) and fulfilling the social and economic needs in line with the principles of “environmental, social, and governance” (ESG). The interdisciplinary approach of the project combines ecology, technology and logistics in order to create a model of ecologically acceptable tourism, which can serve as an example of the best practice in the global effort toward environmental preservation.
– With the development of this destination, we want to demonstrate how the concept of “tiny homes”, combined with efficient logistics and innovations in the construction sector and architecture, as well as a synergy of sustainability and innovations, can transform the tourism industry, improve the quality of life and contribute to the creation of a more sustainable future – notes Ljubica Radovanovic.
