STRIKE END: Lawyers in courtrooms as of January 26

On Monday, January 26, 2015, the advocacy of Serbia, after four and a half month of strike, starts working since requests for change of regulations on public notary and regulation on lump sum taxation of lawyers were adopted.

Lawyers in the entire Serbia went on strike September 17 last year asking for changes in regulation on public notary, regulating lump sum taxation and replacement of the minister of justice and their collegaues from Belgrade halted work a week earlier.

After months of failed attempts to agree, late last year, expert teams of the Ministry of Justice and the Lawyers’ Chmaber of Serbia came to the agreement based on which the Assembly last week urgently changed provisions of the Law on public notary, the Law on real estate turnover, Law on extra-judicial proceeding, Family law and Law on heritage.
