Government is looking for a new owner for Tanjug - New media, same name, old employees, etc.
The only solution for saving newspaper agency Tanjug the Government decided to shut down and which would be in line with the law is to set up a new media, i.e. new legal entity which would have potentially the same name, Danas finds out unofficially in Nemanjiina 11.
A few days ago, the prime minister Aleksandar Vucic said they will try to find the solution so that the staff of Tanjug could continue working "since he cares". The only thing the state could do , according to the finding of the newspaper is to find another private owner who would set up a new media, keep the staff and to whom the state could only offer renting of a building and equipment under favorable terms.
The head of Tanjug, Branka Djukic, said also a few years ago that it is clear Tanjug cannot remain a state-owned but that the state does not want the agency to shut down. When asked if they have a proposal of solution Djukic, outlining the government will define the model, stressed out that the agency had a prepared business plan where it can function without great problem, no subsidies as a market sustainable.
