Consulting company "Rothschild" finished draft model for privatization of "Jat Airways" - more information after December 3
Consulting company "Rothschild" has finished the draft model for privatization of "Jat Airways". The contents of that document are currently "highly confidential" and, according to the words of Saša Vlaisavljević, General Manager of "Jat Airways", more information will be given next week. On Monday (December 3, 2007), the meeting will be held in the Privatization Agency and it will be occasioned by the completion of the draft model of company "Rothschild". It is expected that the public will then receive more information on the forthcoming privatization of the national air transportation company.
- It is in both Serbia's and "JAT's" interest to carry out privatization as soon as possible. The tender will, most probably, be announced in spring, but, no matter which model of privatization is adopted, the state will insist that "Jat" stays our national airliner - says Vlaisavljević.
Let us remind that the most serious interest in privatization of "JAT" was expressed by Russian national air transportation company "Aeroflot". "Island Air" is also very interested in "JAT", while there is no information on the intentions of "Air India", which offered strategic partnership to "Jat" last year.
"Aeroflot" has already prepared principal plans and they anticipate procurement of new airplanes. The offer includes six different types of airplanes - from the airplanes with 35-40 seats to the airplanes with 170 and 180 seats for passengers.
