Modern technologies support fruit growers - Cacak-based faculty is making software for yield prediction

At the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Cacak, a contract on commercial development of computer program - Intelligent system for predicting fruit crops yield which received support from the Innovation Fund from Belgrade. The author of the project, an assistant professor from the Faculty, Dr. Marija Blagojevic, has the task to finish in six months started work, with financial participation of the Fund totaling EUR 11,500.- This project is being developed through Technology Transfer Program (TTF) from the Fund and is intended for growers. It will enable them to enter specific information into the system, such as amount of supplemental feeding, date of harvest, the way of cutting, maintenance area, thickness and length of the branches during growth and usage of pesticides, obtain information on possible yield, which is a significant help in deciding on cultivation of certain species or varieties. In addition, the prediction makes planning harvesting and sale of goods on the market more successful - Dr. Marija Blagojevic says for Politika.She mentions that the main advantage of this program is that it can be used without specific knowledge and skills in information technology, by more simple data entry into electronic questionnaire offered.

Contract on program development was signed by acting manager of the Fund, Ivan Rakonjac, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Professor Nebojsa Mitrovic and dr. Marija Blagojevic.
