Slovak investors interested in opening a factory in Opovo – Confectionery producer from Belgrade also to raise a facility in Banat municipality

More and more investors are interested in initiating production in the Municipality of Opovo. The Slovak company Agentura Evka plans to build a facility in the municipality, that is, a factory where it would produce equipment for world fairs.

The direct investment would amount to 500,000 to 1,000,000 euros, and 20 workers from the municipality would be employed.

According to Miroslav Strasiftak, the owner of this Slovak company, if adequate land is found in Opovo, and considering the conditions offered by the local self-government, he is ready to make this investment, but he is still to reach the decision in several months. His company operates in 60 states worldwide.

The president of the Municipality of Opovo, Zoran Tasic, emphasizes the seriousness of the Slovak company, its reputation in the international market and the readiness of local self-government to meet all the required conditions in order for the company to build its plant in Opovo.

– Our obligation as a local self-government is to find an adequate parcel. On the other hand, we are at their disposal when it comes to the issuing of building permits. We need to prepare several potential locations and analyze people registered at the unemployment service who might work there and inform the company as soon as possible – Tasic said.

Tasic also talked to the owners of the Belgrade-based company Experta Piramida, Marina Jocic and Zoran Stoimenov. Their company intends to move its headquarters and the production facility to Sefkerin, Municipality of Opovo. They produce confectionery and have already bought property for the purpose.

According to Tasic, the most important thing for the municipality is the creation of around a dozen new jobs. As promised three years ago, the number of 200 new jobs has been reached, which is the policy that will guide the local self-government in the future as well.

Representatives of Expert Piramida have confirmed that they are preparing a facility. The company produces hand-manufactured biscuits and has done so for 17 years. They produce 70-100 tons a year and distribute their products to health food stores and Maxi markets.
