The HDI is a composite of measures taken in three areas: life expectancy, education and per capita income. This parameter puts Serbia in the category of countries with a high human development, together with Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Albania, to mention the countries of the region. The other countries in the region, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria belong to the category of countries with a very high human development.
