Slovenian company Geoplin Plinovodi and Russian Gazprom have started elaboration of the feasibility study for construction of Slovenian part of the route of gas pipeline Južni Tok.

- The study should be finished prior to June 2011, in accordance with the interstate agreement - the CEO of Geoplin Plinovodi, Marjan Eberlinc, announced.

- He said that the study would thoroughly "define technical solutions, capacities, routes and compressor station" - it is stated on portal "poslovni.dnevnik.si".

The position of Russian side is that minimum 10, and maybe even 15 billion cubic meters of gas should be transferred via Slovenian route every year.

According to the interstate agreement that was signed last year in Moscow, Geoplin Plinovodi and Gazprom should form a joint venture based on the feasibility study.

People from Gazprom announced that they formed the special sector led by Leonid Čugumov, who had been the President of the Administration of Gazprom's subsidiary Jamalgasinvest for 11 years, for the needs of realization of the Južni Tok project.
