The new plant for production of tires in 2011 - "Mitas" in Ruma employs another 200 workers

Czech company "Mitas", the European leader in the production and sale of tires for agricultural machinery and construction equipment, in its factory in Ruma, plans to build a new plant and to increase production from 290 to 450 000 pieces of tire from this program, and it will employ another 200 new employees. This investment will amount to about 14 million EUR and will be completed during the next year.

Upgrading of the new plant within "Mitas" , the former "Rumaguma", should be completed during the 2011 , and then were machinery and equipment for this new facility would be transportedf from Czech Republic. "Mitas" is planning to hire the young and unemployed, those who are first time job seekers. Of course, before starting with work in the new facility, they will all undergo vocational training for work in the rubber industry.

Otherwise, "Mitas" took over Ruma based factory of tires from previous owner in October, 2008, from the American company "Galaxy" and even then, while taking over the factory, present director Rudolf Macek announced the expansion of production in Ruma, and new employment with the existing 520 workers.

The construction of the new plant for expansion of production of tires, "Mitas", which normally exports 85% of finished products from factories in Ruma, will also increase export duties, and so will continue to be a leader among firms exporting from the region of Srem Administrative District, which was in the last year about EUR 35 million.

Almost double increase in the production, by the construction of new plant, will lead to a much larger export, and it is known that "Mitas" sells its tires to the largest European and international manufacturers of construction and agricultural machinery, which are used for the first installation.

- I was invited to the presentation of this new project in the Czech Embassy in Belgrade, and frankly I was surprised by this move of "Mitas" to build a new plant in the current tire factory and to hire another 200 workers. "Mitas" is, otherwise, one of the largest manufacturers of tires for heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery and construction equipment. For Ruma, this is currently the largest and, frankly, the most important investment, as it will be given the opportunity to 200 young people to get a job - says Goran Vukovic, Mayor of Ruma.
